Overview

Funding for the development of advanced cryptographic schemes, including quantum-resistant primitives and high-assurance cryptographic implementations, targeting secure digital wallets, entity authentication, and formal verification tools. Intended for research teams and organizations addressing post-quantum security challenges in privacy and business applications.

Who Can Apply

Legal entities established in EU Member States or Associated Countries. Participation is restricted to entities not directly or indirectly controlled by non-eligible countries or entities.

Funding Details

Maximum grant amount: 4,000,000 EUR. Funding is provided as a lump sum.

What Is Funded

  • Design and implementation of post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) schemes and protocols, including non-lattice-based approaches, for enhanced security and privacy in digital wallets and eIDs.
  • Development of high-assurance cryptographic software (HACS), including formal verification tools, automated evaluation methods, and machine-checked guarantees for correctness and security.
  • Unified specification languages for cryptographic safety and security in software implementations.
  • Open-source reusable software libraries and recommendations balancing security, performance, and usability.

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Projects must target Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 4 to 6.
