Overview

Supports the development and testing of advanced distribution management systems (ADMS) to enhance grid reliability, flexibility, and interoperability. Targets consortia involving distribution system operators (DSOs), research institutions, and technology providers to improve digital solutions for electricity distribution.

Who Can Apply

Consortia comprising at least three DSOs, two universities or research organisations, and one technology supplier. Collaboration with transmission system operators (TSOs) and projects under the "Advanced TSO control rooms" call is encouraged. Entities directly or indirectly controlled by China are ineligible.

Funding Details

Maximum grant amount: 10,000,000 EUR. Funding rate and co-funding requirements are not specified.

What Is Funded

Development and testing of innovative ADMS solutions, including:
  • Vendor-agnostic architectures and software platforms for grid performance and controllability.
  • Forecasting tools for energy supply, demand, and flexibility.
  • Advanced analytics, visualisations, and interoperability solutions for DSOs, TSOs, and distributed energy resources (DERs).
  • Digital twins and AI-based solutions with security-by-design principles.
  • Open-source software modules and best practice manuals for DSOs.
  • Pilots in at least two EU Member States or Associated Countries.

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Projects must target Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 4 to 6.

Notes
