Who Can Apply

Consortia of legal entities established in eligible countries, including EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, and select non-associated countries with specific funding provisions. Single applicants are not eligible.

Funding Details

Maximum grant amount: 13,000,000 EUR per project. Funding rate and co-financing requirements follow Horizon Europe rules for Innovation Actions (typically 70% for for-profit entities, up to 100% for non-profits).

What Is Funded

Development of advanced manufacturing technologies and machinery for key products, including:
  • Innovative additive and hybrid manufacturing
  • Photonics, advanced joining, and polymer composite manufacturing
  • Surface treatment and structuring technologies
  • Lightweight material components
  • In-line testing
  • Integration of secondary raw materials, biobased materials, or revalorised components
  • Use of innovative advanced materials (e.g., lightweight, functionalised, or self-healing) where relevant to manufacturing performance
  • Digital twins for materials and Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) approaches

Excludes battery production for automotive use.

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Activities must start at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 and achieve TRL 7 by project completion.

Application Process (High-Level)

Single-stage submission via the Funding & Tenders Portal. Proposals must include a business case and exploitation strategy, with an extended page limit for Part B (3 additional pages).

Post-Award Obligations

  • Standard Horizon Europe reporting requirements apply.
  • The granting authority may object to transfers of ownership or exclusive licensing of results for up to 4 years post-project.
  • Dissemination of project outcomes is expected.

Geographic Scope & Language

Open to applicants from EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, and select non-associated countries with specific funding provisions. Applications must be submitted in English.

Notes

  • At least one project focusing on the automotive industry will be funded to ensure portfolio balance.
  • International cooperation, particularly with Japan or Taiwan, is encouraged.
  • Proposals must align with the co-programmed European Partnership "Made in Europe."
