Overview

Funding for projects that enhance understanding and implementation of solutions to combat radicalisation, extremism, hate speech, and polarisation. Targets political, societal, educational stakeholders, researchers, public authorities, NGOs, and community actors to improve evidence-based decision-making and societal resilience.

Who Can Apply

Eligible applicants include legal entities such as universities, research institutions, public authorities, NGOs, civil society organisations, and consortia. Legal entities from non-associated third countries may exceptionally participate and receive funding.

Funding Details

Maximum grant amount: 5,000,000 EUR. Funding is provided as a lump sum.

What Is Funded

Projects must address:
  • Theoretical models and practical pathways to combat extremism, radicalisation, hate speech, and polarisation.
  • Engagement of public authorities, law enforcement, local authorities, NGOs, and community actors in implementing solutions.
  • Evidence-based assessments for policymakers, judicial bodies, and EU institutions to inform legislative changes and innovation.
  • Root causes of hate and polarisation, including socio-economic factors and the role of media.
  • Online hate ecosystems and strategies to protect victims of hate crimes and speech.
  • Gender-sensitive and intersectional approaches to radicalisation and extremism.
  • Collaboration with existing EU-funded projects and initiatives, such as the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation.

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Projects must be at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 4, 5, or 6.
