Who Can Apply

Consortia comprising legal entities (e.g., research institutions, universities, grid operators, technology providers, energy suppliers, and consumer representatives) from eligible countries. Single applicants are not permitted.

Funding Details

Maximum grant amount: €10,000,000 per project. Funding is provided as a lump sum, with eligible costs determined by the Horizon Europe lump sum model.

What Is Funded

  • Coordination and cooperation among energy sector stakeholders to develop and maintain tools for data and analytics in grid planning and operation.
  • Creation of innovation hubs and ecosystems for digitalization projects, including AI-powered tools and digital twins.
  • Development of open-source solutions, repositories, and methodologies for grid simulations, forecasting, and asset management.
  • Synergies with European and international initiatives, including active participation in the BRIDGE initiative.
  • Promotion of FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) research outputs and open-source collaboration.

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Projects must operate at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 4 to 6.
