Overview

Funding for projects that collect and structure large, high-quality manufacturing datasets to train generative AI models, enabling authorized developers to access and use this data while maintaining data holders' control. Targets consortia developing technical, legal, and business solutions for secure data sharing in EU manufacturing sectors.

Who Can Apply

Consortia of legal entities established in eligible countries, including businesses, research organizations, and public bodies. Proposals must include stakeholders from manufacturing sectors and ideally identify AI developers or AI Factories as partners.

• Maximum grant amount: 9,000,000 EUR
• Expected number of projects funded: up to 3
• Estimated co-funding per project: ~3,000,000 EUR

What Is Funded

• Collection of large, high-quality datasets from real industrial environments in manufacturing sectors (e.g., automotive, chemical, aeronautics, energy-intensive industries).
• Development of technical and business solutions for secure data access and sharing, enabling AI developers to train generative AI models.
• Interoperability and governance frameworks for manufacturing data spaces, including alignment with national industrial data spaces.
• Use cases such as predictive maintenance, process automation, supply chain management, product design, and sustainability in production.
• Collaboration with AI Factories and data intermediaries to facilitate dataset utilization.

• Proposals must demonstrate preliminary agreements with data holders and, where possible, AI developers or AI Factories.
• Projects must coordinate with the Data Spaces Support Centre and AI Factories to ensure interoperability and alignment with broader EU data space initiatives.
• Financial sustainability of the data space must be addressed in the proposal.
