Funding to strengthen the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) as a platform for combating disinformation through research, fact-checking, media literacy, and technological innovation. Targets consortia of researchers, fact-checkers, media professionals, and stakeholders across Europe.

Who Can Apply

Consortia composed of legal entities (e.g., universities, research institutions, fact-checking organizations, media outlets, NGOs) established in eligible countries. Public and private entities might be eligible if they meet the call’s conditions.

What Is Funded

• Operation and expansion of EDMO’s platform, including tools and services for researchers, fact-checkers, and media literacy practitioners.
• Coordination of research and open-source investigations on disinformation trends, narratives, and emerging threats (e.g., AI-generated disinformation, deepfakes).
• Monitoring disinformation during crises and elections, including pre- and debunking activities.
• Development and deployment of AI tools to address disinformation challenges, in collaboration with Horizon Europe projects.
• Data access initiatives for researchers studying disinformation.
• Implementation of the 2022 Code of Practice on Disinformation.
• Media literacy campaigns targeting the general public and vulnerable groups.
• Communication and outreach activities (e.g., social media, podcasts, traditional media) to enhance societal resilience to disinformation.

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Projects must demonstrate a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) between 4 and 6.
