Who Can Apply

Consortia of up to 6 independent eligible entities, including SMEs, large enterprises, research organisations, and public bodies from EU Member States, Associated Countries, and select non-EU/non-Associated Countries with specific funding provisions.

Funding Details

Maximum grant amount: 2,500,000 EUR per project. Funding rate and co-funding requirements follow Horizon Europe rules for Research and Innovation Actions (RIA/IA).

  • Decarbonisation of energy-intensive chemical industries.
  • Circular economy solutions in chemical production.
  • Breakthrough production technologies.
  • Development of alternatives to substances of concern, including new chemical substances, advanced materials, or technologies.
  • Application of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) Framework where appropriate.

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Projects must start at TRL 4 and target TRL 7-9 by completion.

Application Process (High-Level)

Single-stage submission via the Funding & Tenders Portal. Evaluation follows a Fast Track to Research and Innovation Procedure (FTRI) for expedited processing.

Post-Award Obligations

  • Grant agreements may include provisions for the granting authority to object to transfers of ownership or exclusive licensing of results for up to 4 years post-project.
  • Standard Horizon Europe reporting and dissemination requirements apply.
