Funding to establish a Research and Innovation Network that advances inclusive, equal, and resilient democratic societies by integrating intersectional perspectives into policymaking. Targets academic institutions, public bodies, and civil society organizations collaborating to promote EU values of equality, justice, and human rights.

Who Can Apply

Consortia of academic institutions, public bodies, and civil society organizations from eligible EU Member States, Associated Countries, and specified non-EU/non-Associated Countries with provisions for Horizon Europe participation.

• Maximum grant amount: 6,000,000 EUR
• Funding type: Lump sum
• Minimum project duration: 4 years

What Is Funded

• Development of a comprehensive approach to democracy, fostering participation and inclusivity
• Implementation of gender-inclusive and intersectional strategies to counter disinformation, reduce societal polarization, and re-engage citizens in democratic practices
• Establishment of an online platform and repository for evidence-based recommendations, tools, and methodologies on inclusive democracy and intersectionality
• Hosting of an annual thematic forum for stakeholders and policymakers
• Translation of research findings into actionable policy recommendations
• Use of living labs and innovation hubs for co-creation and testing of solutions
• Protection of researchers from backlash, hate speech, and harassment, ensuring academic freedom
