Overview

Funding to strengthen coordination and long-term sustainability of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) ecosystem by supporting collaborative activities among existing EOSC-related projects and initiatives. Targets organizations already involved in EOSC implementation or governance.

Who Can Apply

Consortia composed of legal entities (e.g., research organizations, universities, public bodies, SMEs) already participating in EOSC-related projects or initiatives under Horizon Europe or other EU-funded programs. Single applicants are not eligible.

Funding Details

  • Total budget: EUR 2 million
  • Maximum grant per project: EUR 200,000
  • Funding rate: 100% of eligible costs
  • Project duration: 12–18 months

What Is Funded

Activities that enhance EOSC coordination, interoperability, and sustainability, including:
  • Cross-project collaboration and alignment
  • Development of common standards, policies, or governance frameworks
  • Integration of EOSC services and resources
  • Training, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement
  • Studies or roadmaps for EOSC evolution

Technology / Maturity Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate prior involvement in EOSC-related projects or initiatives with a minimum Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 6 or equivalent operational maturity.

Application Process (High-Level)

Single-stage application submitted via the EU Funding & Tenders Portal. Proposals must include a detailed work plan, budget, and consortium agreement.

Post-Award Obligations

  • Regular progress reports to the European Commission
  • Participation in EOSC coordination meetings and events
  • Dissemination of project results to the EOSC community
  • Compliance with EU open science and data management policies

Geographic Scope & Language

Open to applicants from EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, and other countries specified in the call. Applications must be submitted in English.

Notes

  • Proposals must involve at least three independent legal entities from three different eligible countries.
  • Activities must align with the EOSC Partnership’s strategic objectives and avoid duplication of existing efforts.
  • Preference may be given to proposals addressing identified EOSC coordination gaps.
