Overview

Funding for projects that assess and mitigate the negative environmental, ecological, and health impacts of construction and renovation sites while improving their visual integration into surrounding areas. Targets researchers, construction ecosystem actors, and stakeholders developing solutions for sustainable and inclusive urban development.

Who Can Apply

Consortia of legal entities (e.g., research institutions, SMEs, public bodies, NGOs) from eligible countries. Projects must involve social sciences and humanities (SSH) experts and follow a participatory, transdisciplinary approach.

• Maximum grant amount: €5,500,000
• Funding rate: Not specified (lump-sum model)
• At least 0.8% of the budget must be allocated to engage with the Horizon Europe-funded "New European Bauhaus hub for results and impact."

What Is Funded

• Assessment of negative environmental, ecological, and health effects of construction/renovation sites on ecosystems, workers, and nearby populations.
• Development and validation of at least two solutions to reduce these impacts, including visual integration.
• Cost-benefit analysis of proposed solutions using appropriate indicators.
• Creation of a draft "European Charter for sound environmental and working environment management of renovation and construction sites."
• Participatory and transdisciplinary research involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines.

• Technology Readiness Level (TRL): 4–6 (technology validated in lab to demonstrated in relevant environment).
