Who Can Apply

Legal entities established in eligible countries, including EU Member States, associated countries, and select non-EU/non-associated countries with specific funding provisions. Consortia are encouraged, with particular relevance for SMEs.

  • Maximum grant amount: €8,000,000
  • Funding is provided as a lump sum
  • Eligible costs may include capitalized equipment, infrastructure, or assets developed for the action

What Is Funded

  • Design, development, and testing of technical innovations for ecosystem protection and restoration, such as machinery, low-tech solutions, digital tools, or combinations thereof
  • Innovations must address identified needs in terrestrial, freshwater, or marine ecosystems
  • Focus on effectiveness, simplicity, durability, and environmental sustainability, including risk assessment for unintended consequences
  • Cooperation with the EC Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD) is required
